Hoka (ex One One) is a running shoes company founded in 2009 in Annecy (France) by two former Salomon employees. Now based in Richmond California since 2013. Hoka started by catching attention in the running industry with oversized midsoles against the odds and popular minimalist shoe. Basically Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard wanted to design a shoe that allowed faster downhill running with more cushion than other shoes.
Hoka means “to fly” in Maori language and the brand believes that they can make the perfect gear for pro runners and first milers, ultra-marathoners and mountain roamers, neighborhood walkers and wild trail runners. Hoka became the brand that lets moving go beyond performance.Hoka shoes are versatile so that you can always satisfied your running & trail vison (Speedgoat, challenger, Mafate 5, etc.) but on the other hands also Lifestyle and casual for everyday use such as Clifton, Bondi, Tor summit, Ora Primon and so on.
